Can I open an account if I live overseas?
As at 30 June 2024, applicants for a trading account need to be have a connection to Australia (eg tax resident, Australian address) sufficient to open an Australian bank account with Macquarie. This is to allow for settlement of trades.
From August 2024 we expect to be able to offer an alternate banking solution for overseas residents that will allow overseas investors to seamlessly transfer funds into
Australia, and back again, for the purpose of Australian share trading via our Focus platform.
