How do I open a trading account?

Applying for a trading account online is quick and easy once you are trialling, or have subscribed to, our trading platform.  Watch the video below or follow the steps below:


  1. Log into your Marketech Focus account
  2. Click on   
  3. Select 'Trading accounts'
  4. Add Trading Account
  5. Select Marketech Online
  6. Start Application​
You will be redirected to our online account application page where you can select and complete an application form according to your account type.  A summary of the information you will need for each application type can be found below: 
- Company
- SMSF   
- Trust
You can save and resume your application at any time for your convenience.

During the account opening process, check your emails for messages from Marketech and/or Macquarie as you will be required to review and accept the details by entering the PIN provided.  A list of emails you will receive throughout the account opening process can be viewed here

Marketech uses online electronic verification (EV) to verify documents for identification.  Upon submission of your online application, we will verify your identity and identification documentation using our online verification system.  For successful verification, please take the time to enter all details correctly.   If your electronic verification is unsuccessful, you will be required to email to Marketech certified copies of identification documents e.g. Drivers Licence, Trust Deeds etc.  We will notify you if this happens.
