What are tags?
Tags are a visual indicator next to a stock, which shows in
the Watchlists panel, Movers panel, main chart area, and are available to FocusPro subscribers.
- They are useful to mark or 'tag' a stock
to keep an eye on for later.
- They can be used to group watchlist items using
the new watchlist group feature to group by tag.
How to customize your tags.
Tags are user-defined and assigned manually.
There is no right or
wrong way to use tags so feel free to get imaginative with them, for example you might like to tag companies
by:
- Industry –
eg mining, energy, tech, finance, etc
- Size – eg
over $100M market cap, under $100M market cap
- Referral
source – eg twitter, reddit, Marcus Today
- Company
stage – eg explorers, developers, producers
To set up your own tag names click on any of the 3 dot context menu buttons found around the platform
A context dropdown menu will appear.
Navigate to and click on 'Edit Tags' via the drop down selections.
From this menu you can change the colours and names of your tags and delete or add new ones at your leisure.
In the example below we have changed the names of the default tags, rearranged the colours and added a fourth tag named 'Finance'.
There is no limit to how many tags you can have so feel free to experiment.
How to 'tag' stocks.
Now that you have set up your own custom tags it is time we learned how to use them.
There are currently four ways to assign tags:
1) From the context dropdown menu button on Watchlist and Movers items.
First click on the 3 dots next to the stock you wish to tag.
Then select the desired tag(s) from the dropdown menu.
2) The Watchlist Management panel, either on
watchlist items, or in search mode, again through the context dropdown menu.
3) The Company name on the chart itself.
4) The search bar in the top right-hand corner.
Tip: You can visually tag items you want
to keep an eye on, and if they show up in movers you will see the tag next to
them.
