At the bottom of the chart are the chart controls and they modify how the chart above is displayed.
1 - This changes the interval of the chart (intraday, day, weekly, etc). You can also adjust the timeframe using the slider at the bottom of the chart (underneath the months) by moving the grey handles.
2 - These are the chart styles, of which there are nine to choose from. If you aren’t sure about, or don't understand how to use, any of the chart styles listed, searching their names online will return many useful and free resources.
3 - These are technical indicators which overlay additional information on the chart. Technical indicators are often used to help people understand trends in a share price and time their buy or sell decisions. Technical trading is an interesting, but not always intuitive topic. We recommend you try the tools out, but also do your own research to understand whether technical trading is right for you.
4 - Chart drawing tools can be used to plan your trade, add some headings or draw trendlines.
5 - This is a measurement tool which enables you to measure the difference between two points on either the time or price axis.
6 - Use this button to quickly add price alerts directly onto the chart.
